Magnolia 2.0 Final Beta Release Details
-----------------------------------------------

Magnolia is the first Open Source CMS based on JSR-170, and
its outstanding ease-of-use has already attracted a wide
industry following, with implementations ranging from russian
travel sites over the number one web application security
site owasp.org to industry leaders like Siemens Enterprise.

We are therefore extremely happy about the progress that has
been achieved going from the first to the second generation
of Magnolia.

Some highlights of Magnolia Release 2:

* a new JCR repository browser and editor that lets you
configure your application completely through the GUI

* customized and customizable KUPU rich text editor. Besides
the usual stuff you expect from a rich text editor, ours
lets you define your own CSS classes to be available as
markup in the editor, thus guaranteeing adherence to the
corporate design / corporate identity while at the same
time giving editors the freedom and ease of use they
  always wanted.

* updated the Java Content Repository (JCR) to a
  significantly newer release

* improved caching - Magnolia now caches compressed content.
This results in response times that are at least twice as
fast as static content served from a standard Apache web
server, while at the same time retaining the flexibility
  of a dynamic website.

* completely rewritten GUI that is both easily extensible as
well as outstanding in its easy-of-use. We truly believe
there is no open source web administration GUI out there
that even comes close to Magnolia 2.0. At the same time,
the new controls library allows you to add custom controls
and use them exactly like the build-in controls.

* modularized - it is very easy to write and add modules to
Magnolia 2.0 without the need to touch the code base of
  the core CMS.

With Magnolia 2.0, we invite you to participate in the
future growth of Magnolia.
